12-24 hours before the appointment please shave and exfoliate your body. DO NOT apply any lotions or deodorants to the skin the day of the appointment. They can alter the pH of the skin which can potentially alter the colour of the tan.
At the start of the appointment, we will determine your undertone and discuss how dark you want the tan to be. Once we decide on the best shade, the tanning technician will leave the room so you can get undressed for the tan. There will be sticky feet that you will step on to, so the bottom of your feet doesn’t get tanned during the session. You will also be given a hair net to wear to protect your luscious locks. Once you are ready the tan will begin, and the technician will give you step by step instructions the whole entire time ensuring a flawless tan. Once the tan is complete you will be dried with the blowing air from the machine and a shimmering dust will be applied to certain areas of the body such as the crease of the armpits, elbows, chest, etc. You can opt out of this step if you like!
Whatever you are most comfortable with! Some people go naked to avoid tan lines or wear just underwear.
We recommend getting a spray tan 48 hours before an event. This will give you ample time to process the tan, wash off the bronzer and let the tan settle nicely into the skin before hitting the town.
YES! The tanning solution is pregnancy safe. If you are breastfeeding, you can bring nipple shields to wear during the tan or immediately wipe your breasts with a baby wipe after the tan to remove the solution from the area.
Spray tans typically last 7-10 days if taken care of properly.
Once you are ready to wash off the tanning solution, be sure to rinse with water only and use soap only in the important areas. I know this might seem weird, but it does help with the tan if you avoid soap on your whole body. After the shower it is recommended to air dry or pat dry with your towel. Do not swipe the towel across the skin as it does act as an exfoliator and may remove some of the tan. Be sure to stay as moisturized as possible! Hydrated skin will always keep the tan the best.
Because conditions like these do change the texture of the skin in certain areas, a spray tan may make them more noticeable as it doesn’t process over the dry areas properly. It shouldn’t make the condition worse though, so you are able to still get a tan, but we do recommend proceeding with caution.
